EPZ G20 Pro Gaming IEMs

These EPZ G20 Pro IEMs have an attractive but fairly simple design. Both shells are made from 3D-printed resin, with the EPZ name on one side and the EPZ symbol on the other. They are available in orange or gray, and I chose the orange version. The orange definitely stands out, but not in a bad way. Overall, the design is clean and fairly understated despite the brighter color. The braided USB-C cable has a built-in DAC and comes preinstalled on the IEMs, which I really appreciate. Detachable IEM cables can sometimes be surprisingly difficult to connect, so having the cable already attached means these are almost ready to use right out of the box. You still need to install the ear tips, but small, medium, and large sizes are included. Both ends of the cable have metal connector housings with the two pins that plug into the IEM shells. The left connector housing also has a recessed 2-pin connection for the removable boom microphone. Once installed, the microphone curves naturally toward your mouth and feels intuitive to use. The extra connection does add some bulk to the left side, and the connector sticks out slightly even when the boom mic is not attached, but neither was an issue for me during use. This is clearly a gaming-focused design, and I think the removable boom mic is a nice feature for anyone who wants better voice communication without having a microphone permanently attached to the IEMs. Since these use standard detachable 2-pin cables, you can also swap to another compatible cable if you already have one or prefer a simpler setup without the microphone connection. The boom microphone comes separately in a small accessory box. You also get a drawstring IEM storage pouch, a USB-C extension cable, a USB-C-to-USB-A adapter, and the customary anime character card that seems to come with many IEMs. I actually liked the artwork on this one. These cards have become a trend that has gradually grown on me. Sound quality is clear and detailed, but the tuning is brighter than I personally prefer. The treble can be a little spicy, and I noticed some sibilance on certain rock and metal tracks. Vocals are prominent and clear, although they can occasionally sound a little shouty depending on the recording. The bass is not especially heavy, but I found it adequate. It gives the music enough low-end presence without muddying up the mids. The overall sound signature is not my favorite for music, but it is still enjoyable and perfectly usable. I can listen to music with these and enjoy the experience, although the brighter tuning may become fatiguing during longer listening sessions. I am sensitive to treble, so this may be more noticeable to me than it would be for someone who enjoys a brighter sound. Everyone's hearing and sound preferences are different, so your experience may be different from mine. For gaming, these are well suited to what they were designed for. The detailed upper range helps make sounds easier to pick out and provides good positional awareness. They also get plenty loud without noticeable distortion. I did not experience any popping, crackling, or other audio issues during testing. Because the USB-C cable contains a built-in DAC, these also support custom EQ settings through EPZ's software. However, the app and web interface were not listed in the included instructions, so they took some searching to find. I eventually located them through EPZ's website. The Android app, called WalkPlay, is available as an APK download, while the web interface works with Windows, macOS, and iOS. The software requires an account, so I did not test the EQ features myself. I would have preferred being able to use the EQ without creating an account, although I see this more as an extra feature than a major selling point. These are primarily designed for gaming, and they work well in that role without needing any additional software. The overall presentation is nicely done. The packaging, accessories, design, and included features all feel thoughtfully put together. EPZ seems to be doing a good job of offering products aimed at different users, and this set gives you a good amount of functionality for the price. Overall, these are solid gaming-focused IEMs with clear sound, good positional detail, useful accessories, and a distinctive appearance. The brighter tuning may not be ideal for people who are sensitive to treble or prefer a warmer sound, but gamers and listeners who enjoy more detail in the upper frequencies may appreciate the sound. Considering the built-in DAC, removable boom microphone, included accessories, and EQ customization options, I think these offer good value for the asking price.

The G20 Pro sounds basically the same as my standard G20 set — clean tuning, good detail, and solid gaming performance. To my ears, there’s no meaningful difference in sound quality between the two. EPZ continues to deliver great value here. Where things really change is the connector and DAC. This USB‑C version has an in‑line DAC, and while it works fine, I still prefer the flexibility of the 3.5mm G20 paired with an external DAC or better sound chain. The web‑based tuning for the Pro model does work, but I’ve had some hiccups with it, and overall I just prefer hardware‑based tuning. With 3.5mm, I can swap sources, tweak EQ more easily, and tailor the sound to whatever setup I’m using. (What I haven't tried is swapping these G20 Pros with the 3.5mm cable from my G20s - not sure it will work, but I wonder if that would produce a more noticeable sound difference between the G20 and G20 Pro by providing a level playing field.) Convenience is definitely the Pro model’s strength. Plug‑and‑play USB‑C is nice, and both the in‑line mic and boom mic work well — clear voice pickup and no issues in games or calls. As I’ve said in my other EPZ reviews, I still prefer the G30 overall for gaming — it just hits the right balance of comfort, tuning, and performance. And for pure music listening, the P50 outshines all of them. So really, the G20 Pro comes down to your preferred connector and workflow. If you want simple USB‑C convenience, these are great. If you want maximum flexibility and tuning options, the 3.5mm G20 (or the G30) still feels better suited. A solid 4‑star set — for the price, solid sound, flexibility and mics.

I already own several pairs of these earbuds because they work so well for me. I like having one set in my purse and another on my desk, so I always have a pair within reach. The sound quality is very good, and they have been reliable for everyday use. One thing I really appreciate is that the cable does not seem to get tangled easily, which saves a lot of frustration. The bright orange color is another feature I like because they are easy to spot instead of disappearing into the bottom of a bag or on a cluttered desk. They fit comfortably and are easy to plug in whenever I need them. Having multiple pairs has been convenient since I use them in different places rather than carrying one set around all the time. Overall, these are dependable earbuds with good sound, a practical tangle-resistant cable, and a color that makes them easy to find. I took a picture of the box to show that they can be gifted as is.

Wired IEMs aimed at gamers often cut corners on build and design, so the first pleasant surprise here is how genuinely attractive these are in person. The photos do not fully capture it. The orange resin housing looks fantastic, with a deep, glossy finish that feels far more premium than the price would suggest. The 3D printed resin shells have a smooth, high-quality feel in the hand and sit comfortably in the ear, and the ergonomic ear-hook shape keeps them seated securely through long sessions.

Sound quality is where I would set expectations carefully depending on what you want from them. For pure music listening, they leave something to be desired. The tuning does not have the refinement or balance that a dedicated audiophile IEM at a similar price can offer, so if critical music enjoyment is your main goal, these are not the standout. That said, for gaming they hold up nicely. Positional audio comes through clearly enough to place footsteps and directional cues, which is what actually matters in game, and the presentation works well for that purpose. So the value really depends on your intended use: capable for gaming, a bit short for serious music.

The standout feature for me is the microphone system. The dual switchable mic setup is genuinely well done, and voice comes through clear and natural during team chat. Being able to switch between mics depending on the situation is a smart touch, and the ear-hook design combined with the mic does a good job keeping distracting background noise out. For anyone who spends time in voice comms while playing, this is a real strength and arguably the best part of the whole package.

The dual silver-plated detachable cables with the standard 0.78mm pins are a nice inclusion, giving you flexibility and a path to swap cables down the line. The Type-C DAC connection also makes them easy to use across phones, laptops, and PCs without needing a separate dongle, which suits the gaming-on-anything pitch well.

The customizable EQ through the app or webpage, with presets saving to the internal chip, is a welcome feature that helps offset some of the tuning limitations. Spending a little time dialing in the sound to your preference goes a long way, especially given the flexible starting point.

For a gamer who wants a comfortable, striking-looking wired IEM with a genuinely strong mic setup and does not mind that the sound is tuned more for play than for audiophile music sessions, these make a lot of sense and deliver where it counts for their intended purpose.

The sounds is not good for gaming its sharp and light, no bass even with tuning the EQ, and got only 1 cable usb-c never got the 3.5 mm
