EPZ TP35 Pro PEQ Tuning Guide (WalkPlay App & Web Tuning)

This support guide shows you how to tune PEQ/EQ on the EPZ TP35 Pro (TP35PRO) using WalkPlay (Android APK) or Web Tuning (browser on iOS/desktop). Youโ€™ll learn how to connect, choose a starting preset, adjust PEQ safely, try digital filters, and save profiles you can switch anytime.

1) Choose your tuning method

Option A โ€” WalkPlay (Android)

  • Best if you want the full โ€œpairing + presets + tuning controlsโ€ experience on Android.
  • Install the official APK from EPZ Downloads.

Option B โ€” Web Tuning (iOS / Windows / macOS / no-install)

  • Best if you prefer no installs or youโ€™re on iOS/desktop.
  • Runs in your browser (login required). Bookmark it for quick access.

2) Quick setup (works for both WalkPlay and Web Tuning)

  1. Connect TP35 Pro to your phone/tablet/PC via USB-C (use a reliable adapter for iOS if needed).
  2. Plug in your IEM/headphone to the correct output (3.5mm single-ended or 4.4mm balanced).
  3. Start low volume: lower system volume first, then raise slowly after audio starts playing.
  4. Open WalkPlay (Android) or Web Tuning (browser) and confirm the device is detected.
Android install tip: If Android says โ€œBlockedโ€ or โ€œCanโ€™t installโ€, go to system settings and allow โ€œInstall unknown appsโ€ for your browser or file manager, then try again. Always install from official links.

3) Tuning workflow (beginner-safe)

Step 1 โ€” Start from a preset (donโ€™t tune from scratch first)

Pick a preset closest to your preference (e.g., โ€œvocalโ€, โ€œwarmโ€, โ€œclarityโ€, โ€œgameโ€ if available). This gives you a stable baseline. Once the overall direction feels right, move to small PEQ changes.

Step 2 โ€” Make small PEQ changes (one thing at a time)

A good rule: change only 1 band at a time, listen for 30โ€“60 seconds, then decide. Avoid stacking many changes quicklyโ€”your ears adapt and it becomes hard to judge.

  • If the sound is too bright / sharp: try a small cut around 6โ€“9 kHz (gentle, not extreme).
  • If vocals feel recessed: try a small lift around 1โ€“3 kHz.
  • If bass lacks weight: try a small lift around 60โ€“120 Hz.
  • If bass feels boomy: try a small cut around 150โ€“250 Hz.
Tip: If your PEQ tool has a โ€œPreampโ€ or โ€œOutputโ€ control, reduce it slightly before boosting multiple bands to prevent clipping/distortion.

Step 3 โ€” Save your profile (name by scenario)

After you land on a good sound, save it as a custom profile so you can switch instantly later. Use scenario names like:

  • Music โ€“ Smooth
  • Music โ€“ Clear
  • Gaming โ€“ FPS
  • Calls โ€“ Mic+

4) Digital filters (5 modes) โ€” what they do & when to use

TP35 Pro offers multiple digital filter modes that subtly change transient character, perceived smoothness, and โ€œedgeโ€ of notes. If youโ€™re new, treat filters as fine seasoning after your PEQ baseline is set.

  • FAST-LL (Fast / Low Latency) โ€” fast transient feel; often perceived as more direct/impactful.
  • FAST-PC (Fast / Phase Compensation) โ€” fast feel with phase-compensation behavior; can alter image/placement slightly.
  • SLOW-LL (Slow / Low Latency) โ€” smoother top-end, gentler edges; can feel more relaxed.
  • SLOW-PC (Slow / Phase Compensation) โ€” relaxed with phase behavior; often perceived as more โ€œmonitor-likeโ€.
  • NOS (Non-OverSampling) โ€” a different processing approach; can feel warmer/softer for certain recordings.
Practical approach: Choose ONE filter and live with it for a day. If you keep changing filters while tuning PEQ, youโ€™ll chase your tail.

5) Recommended โ€œstarterโ€ profiles (safe templates)

These are not โ€œone-size-fits-allโ€ because every IEM/headphone differs. Use them as gentle templates:

Template A โ€” Smooth listening (reduce fatigue)

  • Small cut in the upper treble (if sharp)
  • Very small bass lift (if thin)
  • Filter: try SLOW-LL

Template B โ€” Clear vocals (speech & detail)

  • Small lift in 1โ€“3 kHz region
  • Avoid heavy bass boosts
  • Filter: try FAST-LL or FAST-PC

Template C โ€” Gaming / positional cues (FPS)

  • Keep bass controlled (avoid masking footsteps)
  • Small presence lift (2โ€“4 kHz) if needed
  • Filter: start with FAST-LL (then test FAST-PC)

6) Troubleshooting

โ€œI donโ€™t see the device in the app/web.โ€

  • Reconnect TP35 Pro and close/reopen the app or refresh Web Tuning.
  • Try another USB port/cable/adapter (especially on iOS).
  • Try a different browser for Web Tuning.

โ€œSound is distorted after tuning.โ€

  • Lower your PEQ boosts and reduce preamp/output if available.
  • Reset to a preset and re-apply changes more gently.

โ€œAndroid installation is blocked.โ€

  • Enable โ€œInstall unknown appsโ€ for your browser or file manager, then reinstall from official links.

7) Next steps

If you want, we can build a dedicated PEQ profile for your exact IEM/headphone + listening goal. Send your IEM model and what you want to improve (e.g., โ€œless shoutโ€, โ€œmore sub-bassโ€, โ€œclearer footstepsโ€), and weโ€™ll create 2โ€“3 profiles (Music / Gaming / Calls) you can save and compare.
